Pre-publication form
The Office of Research and Scholarship (ORS) supports professional publications (abstracts, articles, professional posts, manuscripts, book chapters, etc.) by faculty. Therefore, prior to submission of any faculty-authored document for possible publication and/or dissemination, the Pre-publication form shall be reviewed by the associate dean of research and scholarship.
The two-fold purpose for the form is:
- Verify all authors have met the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) guidelines for authorship; and
- Track submissions of faculty-authored, professional publications.
Instructions
During planning of professional publications, the first-author is responsible for the Pre-publication form. If the first author is a non-SON faculty member, the most senior author who is a SON faculty member assumes responsibility for completing and submitting the form. Once cleared by the associate dean of research and scholarship (ADRS), faculty may proceed with submission.
Timeline: Please plan five business days for the ADRS to review the form and clear the document for submission. The AD will email verification to the first-author.
Contact the ORS for schedule concerns or other questions.
Note:The form is not required for re-submissions unless there is a change in authorship.
